Before you start The Scale page won’t take a new delivery until at least one grain has been saved in Site Config. Until then it shows Site configuration required.
Save your first grain
- Click Site Config in the menu. The page opens on the Commodity Rates tab with Corn selected. A red box says the configuration has not been saved yet.
- Under Site Options, enter the Site Name and Site Address. They print at the top of grain slips and invoices. Put the ZIP code in the address if you want weather on the dashboard.
- On the hosted (web) version, enter a Site Email. Replies to invoices and field reports you email go to this address.
- Check the rates and tables. Corn and soybeans start with typical Midwest values. See Commodities and pricing for what each one does.
- Set the Site Features switches and the Site Timezone (below).
- Click Save Configuration. The page reloads and the red box is gone.
Add your other grains
- Pick the grain from the Commodity list at the top: Soybeans, Wheat, Milo or White Corn.
- Enter the Site Name and Site Address again. Each grain keeps its own copy, and a grain slip prints the one saved with that load’s grain.
- Check the rates and click Save Configuration.
Only grains you’ve saved appear in the Grain list on a new delivery. For White Corn, once corn is saved, you can click Start from your Corn configuration to copy corn’s settings.

These switches cover the whole site, whichever grain is showing when you save. Most can stay off at first.

- Off-site storage tracks your own grain stored at other elevators, and adds a Facilities tab to Site Config. It can’t be on with the DPR, and the DPR stays off while the site has any facility. See Off-site storage.
- Customer haul-outs lets you weigh a customer’s stored grain out for them on the Scale page. See Customer haul-outs.
Set Site Timezone to Central, Eastern, Mountain or Pacific. Dates and times on screens and reports use it.
Before the first truck
- Add your farmers on the Customers page. See Customers and starting balances.
- If you hire outside trucking, add truckers on the Truckers tab of Site Config. See Trucker settlement.
- If you store grain at other elevators, turn on Off-site storage and add them on the Facilities tab. See Off-site storage.
- To practice, add a customer with Test Customer (for testing purposes only) ticked and run a load or two. Test customers don’t count toward site totals or the Daily Position Report.
Common problems
- A grain is missing from the delivery form. It hasn’t been saved yet. Pick it in Site Config and click Save Configuration.
- Changes disappeared after picking another grain. Switching grains reloads the form. Save each grain before moving to the next.
- The slip shows the wrong or a blank site name. That grain’s settings have a different or empty Site Name. Fix it on that grain and save.
