Turn on reopening
- Go to Site Config.
- Under Site Features, turn on Allow reopening closed deliveries.
- Click Save Configuration.
Reopen the delivery
- Go to Customer Balances and click View Details on the customer’s card.
- On the Grain In/Out tab, find the load under Received. If it’s from an earlier year, change Grain Year at the top of the page.
- Click the reopen button at the end of the load’s row (the undo arrow, labelled Reopen this delivery when you hover over it).
- Read the dialog. It shows the date, load number, grain, and bushels, and tells you what reopening will do, for example: “While reopened, 1,842.50 bushels of corn come off Johnson Farms’ balance and the drying charge for this delivery is removed. Closing it again puts both back.” On a load sold at the scale, it says the sales invoice is deleted instead.
- Click Reopen Delivery.
The load leaves the customer’s page and appears under Open Transactions on the Scale page. Only this load’s drying charge comes off the drying invoice. Charges for other loads on the same invoice stay put.
Fix it and close it again
- Go to Scale and click Edit on the load.
- Correct it (customer, weights, moisture, farm field) and click Save. If the load shouldn’t exist at all, such as a duplicate ticket, click Delete instead.
- Click Close on the load. The bushels go back on the balance and the drying charge goes back on the customer’s drying invoice.
- Go back to Site Config, turn Allow reopening closed deliveries off, and click Save Configuration.
Closing again keeps the load’s original delivery date, so it stays in the same grain year and storage months.
If you deleted it or left it open
Storage invoices already calculated for the months since the delivery still include its bushels. Recalculate each of those months:
- Go to Site Summary and click Calculate Storage Invoices.
- Pick the Month and Year, then click Calculate.
- Repeat for each month since the delivery. Each run replaces that month’s unpaid storage invoices.
Common problems
- No reopen buttons at all. Allow reopening closed deliveries is off. Turn it on in Site Config.
- One load has no reopen button. The load is from a past season (shown in italics). These can’t be reopened.
- The dialog shows a reason and no Reopen Delivery button. The load is applied to a grain contract, its drying charge or sale is already paid, or its bushels have already been sold off the customer’s balance. A split load closed before September 26, 2026, or one whose owners changed after it closed, can’t be reopened either. The dialog says which.
- Can’t delete a closed load. Closed loads can’t be deleted directly. Reopen it first, then delete it from the Scale page.
Reopening, editing, and closing again all show up on the Activity page with the time and the machine they came from.
