Settle with an overage

- Go to Contracts and click Settle on the contract.
- Under … bu over the contract. What happens to it:, pick one:
- Carry to #… moves it to another of the farmer’s open flat-price contracts for the same grain. That contract counts the bushels as filled and pays them at its own price when it settles.
- Pay it here at this contract’s price pays everything that crossed the scale on this settlement.
- Move it to the farmer’s storage puts it on the farmer’s storage balance, charged storage from the settlement date. Only offered when the site switch below is on.
- If you are carrying, check Bushels to carry. It defaults to as much as the other contract can take. Any overage not carried is paid here, or moved to storage if the switch is on.
- Check Settlement Volume and Net Payment, then click Confirm Settlement.
The settlement sheet lists Carried to #… or Overage moved to storage. The receiving contract’s sheet lists Includes carried in from #…, and the farmer’s storage statement shows Contract Overage Moved to Storage with the contract it came from.
Make storage the default
- Go to Site Config.
- Under Site Features, turn on Contract overage goes to storage.
- Click Save Configuration.
With it on, storage is offered and pre-selected; you can still carry or pay here. With it off, storage isn’t offered.
At the scale
A full contract stays in the delivery form’s contract list but is greyed out, labelled with how far over it is. Send the next load to another contract or to storage.

Common problems
- No overage choice in the settle window. It appears only when there is another contract to carry to or the storage switch is on. Otherwise the overage is paid here.
- A contract is missing from the carry list. It must be the same farmer, grain, and crop year, Active, flat-price, with bushels left.
- Can’t cancel the receiving contract. A contract with bushels carried in can’t be cancelled. Settle it instead.
- Picked the wrong choice. Click Re-open on the settled contract to undo the carry or stored overage, then settle again. Re-open is refused if the receiving contract has already settled (re-open it first), the settlement is marked paid, or the farmer has sold some of the stored overage.
